Subject Matter

At left, Adam holds his hand to his jaw. At center is the Tree of Life, in which the Serpent is entwined. The serpent hold out a bunch of grapes (rather than the usual apple) to Eve. Eve (right), takes the grapes in her right hands, as she clutches leaves to her naked body with her left hand. (Genesis 3:1-7)

.Many scholars think that this capital was reused from an earlier structure. Note that the same subject matter is used in capital # 93.
